Josephine Angulo, LCSW, LCDC

Therapist

Josephine Angulo, LCSW, LCDC is a bilingual Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor who provides a wide range of approaches to psychotherapy, keeping an eclectic mindset. She enjoys helping individuals achieve their full potential and gain insight and awareness into themselves.

Josephine earned a master’s degree in Social Work from UT – Arlington with a concentration in mental health and substance abuse and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Houston- Downtown. She has had the opportunity to gain experience with a variety of different populations in diverse settings including women’s shelters, neuropsychiatric centers, and geriatrics.

Because Josephine understands that what works for one, does not work for all, she likes to design the therapeutic process around the client and their needs, focusing on the specific modalities that best fit each individual client.

Some of the therapeutic approaches that Josephine uses include: CBT, psychodynamic therapy, person-centered therapy, trauma-focused, and mindfulness practices.

When asked what inspired her to become a therapist, Josephine explained, “I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, because helping people has always been in my nature. I see the potential in every individual to find their voice and push through the pain of what they have experienced and could still be experiencing. I love to advocate for others, and I've always felt that healing is a natural and necessary part of life. Being able to assist and empower during that healing process is very rewarding and I am always excited to witness a client’s journey.”
